Somnomed Snoring Treatment

Somnomed is an oral appliance, known as aMandibular Advancement splint,used in the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. This treatment is safe, painless and effective and does not involve surgery.

Two in every ten Australians will experience significant snoring during their lifetime which for some may indicate a more serious medical condition called Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. It causes interruptions to breathing during the night, with each interruption lasting from seconds to minutes. Left untreated this may lead to an increase in blood pressure, heart disease, stroke or heart attack.

Oral appliance therapy uses a dental device fitted in the mouth to prevent the airways from collapsing during sleep by holding the jaw forward.
